Red Wings vs Coyotes

How cool is Santa? On Christmas morning, Cousin Austen and I both found Red Wing Hockey tickets in our stockings. Enough for the Thum family plus me and Zac to go to the Wings game against the Coyotes on December 29th. A great game it turned out to be. Of course the Wings won, the seats were great, and I even caught a t-shirt from one of those air guns. How do beat getting a chance to see the Wings in town over the Holidays?

Now just say it with me “Cup in 08′ Baby”!!

Excalibur Show Christmas day

Tournament of Kings

During the Thum family Holiday visit, we buzzed up to Vegas for a couple of days. On Christmas morning we did the Santa thing at home, had some breakfast and then hit the road. On the drive up, sadly there was a bad accident that had closed the road. Not wanting to get stuck for hours, we took a typical Arizona dirt back road around the accident - what fun that was showing the Vermonters the desert and what ‘washboard road’ means.

The good news, we still made it up to Vegas in plenty of time to settle in and hit our show at Excalibur called Tournament of Kings. It was a fun show with ‘Eating by Hand’. I think the cousins had a great night. A couple of the shots are here. As with the rest of the Holiday and Thum family visit, you can find more pictures and Video in the other sections of the site.

Big Love for Citrus

Kimberly and her Troupe The Desert Flowers, recently performed at a Charity event on December 2nd, 2007 called ‘Big Love for Citrus‘. The event honors the memory of Citrus Golba a beautiful little girl who last year lost her battle with Cystic Fibrosis. It was a perfect weather day, and we all had a great time. The event seemed really well setup, and there were many local performance artists doing their thing.

On a kinda’ sad note though, I don’t think the attendance was as much as hoped for. I also did not see a lot of mechanisms (if you will) to raise money. Maybe next year the founders can get some help (as I am sure it is quite challenging and time consuming) in finding more ways to raise money. I think they could; sell food, sell more clothing, pass the hat, raffle, etc. They put on a great event and everyone really seemed to enjoy it, with more help I think a lot could be done for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation by those honoring Citrus.

If you would like to support - The Big Love for Citrus Myspace can be found HERE
